Women Umpires

NCF has made significant strides in promoting women in cricket, with a key focus on increasing the number of women umpires and scorers. This initiative not only allows women to contribute actively to the cricket circuit but also encourages their overall involvement in the sport beyond playing.

Currently, there are four active women umpires in the cricket community. Bijeyata and Pooja, who began their umpiring journey in the 2020 season, have each officiated in over 30 matches. Through their experience in 2020, they recognized how umpiring helped improve their own game and facilitated their integration into the cricket community. This motivated them to collaborate with other women who aspired to become umpires, and, before the 2021 season, they started working together towards that goal.

In 2021, two additional women umpires, Sneha Pandit and Paridhi Agarwal, were inducted after completing the Stage 1 umpiring course and receiving guidance from the umpire committee. Sneha and Paridhi were active in the youth series, with Sneha officiating in four games and Paridhi in three games that year. These women are committed to further developing their umpiring skills and are passionate about encouraging more women to become umpires.

If you're interested in starting umpiring or learning more about the process, you can contact any of the women umpires mentioned for more information.
