Norwegian Cricket Federation (NCF) is one of 55 national federations within The Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports. Founded in 1994 NCF includes approximately 5000 members, 2100 of them active players spread out in 64 clubs throughout the country. Additionally, 20 teams participate in the youth league along with women activities. Norwegian cricket has over the past years experienced growth and development, both nationally and internationally. Norway is an Associate voting member with high potential growth member status and a specific relationship manager within ICC. The administration is located at the House of sports, Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo.

With NCFs increased recognition and growth, we are looking at exiting years ahead. Focusing on further development, both nationally and internationally, with an increasing number of team’s foundation and rapidly expanding on the youth and female side, NCF need to strengthen the organization and find the candidate to take this great project into the future.

Job title: Head Coach

Duration: 2 Year Contract fulltime position, with possibility of extension

Reports to: General Secretary

Salary: Competitive (dependent on skills and experience)

Location: Idrettens Hus Ullevaal Stadium, Norwegian Cricket Academy and various locations
in and around Norway

JOB SUMMARY

The principal role of the Head Coach will be to develop players from the Norwegian domestic
cricket structure to represent Norway at major ICC events which include the Men’s T20 World Cup
and U19 World Cup. Preparation and planning for national teams, Men’s, Women’s and U25 Academy &
U19 to take part in tours outside ICC Programs will be a priority as well.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Norwegian Cricket Federation (NCF) Men’s, Women’s, Academy U25 and U19 national teams.

  • To develop and maintain a strong and effective working relationship with the assistant coaches in order to ensure that the high-performance program is delivered successfully.

  • Lead the selection process and work in conjunction with the selection panel.

  • Attend local cricket club matches to identify talent.

  • Prepare individual player development programs for all national team players.

  • Evaluation of team and player performances post tournaments and tours.

  • Implement new coaching ideas.

  • Deliver individual 1:1 coaching and skill sessions for players.

  • To deliver Coach Education and upskill local coaches to help enhance the level of coaching at club level.

  • Develop a positive high-performance culture.

  • To conduct yearly appraisals for the assistant coaches and support any needs for development.

  • To always work in a professional manner.

  • To pursue relevant personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. Coaches applying should aspire to pursue the ECB Specialist Coach Program.

  • Adhere to NCF and Norges Idrettsforbund (NIF) relevant rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

PERSON SEPSIFCATION

  • A passion for cricket coaching.

  • Positive attitude with energy, focus and drive.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of high-performance cricket
    in line with ICC high performance framework.

  • Experience of coaching and developing players for elite performance
    using the appropriate training techniques and programs.

  • Understand Long-term Athlete Development

  • ECB Level 3 or 4 coaching qualification, or international equivalent.

  • Fully qualified and trained in First Aid.

  • Have the ability and knowledge of delivering Coach Education.

  • Knowledge of talent development.

  • Believe in a fair and transparent selection process.

  • Have a positive outlook on the development of national teams.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), leadership, organizational
    and time management skills.

  • Open mind and flexible thinking.

  • Ability to motivate.

  • High level of integrity and have strong moral principles.
